Brent Thibodo

Join us as  we focus on the story of Brent Thibodo. Brent and his family are relatively new to West Sacramento. He is in CyberSecurity and his wife is a nurse. Thanks to her and all healthcare providers   in our community for their service.

I am originally from San Diego, CA. I moved to Sacramento for college. I went to Sacramento State and majored in electrical engineering. I am married to a nurse and we have two daughters. I work in CyberSecurity for HPE. When I am not working I like to spend time with my family outside or golfing with my father-in-law.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My wife and I have two daughters ages 4 and 1. Both of my daughters have reddish hair even though my wife and I don’t.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I work in CyberSecurity as an incident response analyst. My job is to stop bad people from damaging the company I work for.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
The top two places are La Crosta and Devil May Care. You can go to one place for dinner and drinks and a couple doors down is the ice cream place.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I have lived in West Sacramento since 2013.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
When I was at Burgers and Brew I ran into the former mayor of my home town Randy Voepel.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I would want to travel to the Galapagos Islands. There is an abundance of sea life that you can snorkel/swim with.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Casablanca.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Do or do not there is no try. – Yoda

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
To see Taylor Swift in concert.

Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?
Taylor Swift. She is also has 6 out of the top 10 spots last year on my Spotify playlist. So she is always my go to singer.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Nugget. I always feel happy when I’m in Nugget.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would have lunch with Taylor Swift because she my favorite artist and I would like to meet her. I would take her to La Crosta because the food is good and they have a really good beer and wine selection.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
My favorite thing is that there are some really good non chain restaurants that members of the community are adamant supporters of.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I see myself in my same house taking walks on the Clarksburg trail to nugget.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I can wiggle my ears. When I get nervous then they wiggle unconsciously.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
The most beautiful place I have been is on top of Mount Haleakala for sunrise.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
My favorite month is April. During college two of my roommates and I had birthdays during that month. My favorite holiday is Easter. It is always a time of hope. The best day is the day the Padres win the world series.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Swimming with turtles.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My wife inspires me to be better.

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
One of my favorite smells is the smell of a camp fire.

Q: What is one business you would like to have in West Sacramento? (which we don’t have one already)
Just like almost everyone else I know in West Sac, I would like a Trader Joes.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Home is wherever I’m with you.
